Wakatu™ is a dual-purpose hop from Nelson, New Zealand, prized for both flavoring and bittering. Its namesake comes from Whakatu, the Māori name for Nelson. Wakatu is bred from Hallertau Mittelfrüh, and its German lineage imparts a balanced blend of floral and citrus notes with a hint of lime zest. Wakatu offers moderate alpha (6.5-8.5%) with pleasant flavor — an all-around choice for a wide range of ale and lager styles.
