Liberty Hops
Liberty Hop Profile
Liberty is a triploid hop variety developed through the USDA breeding program at Oregon State University in 1983 and released in the U.S. in 1991. Crossed from a female Hallertau Mittelfrüh and a downy mildew resistant German male, it’s a member of the Hallertau hop family and a half-sister to Mt. Hood and Crystal. Of the Hallertau-derived triploid varieties, Liberty most closely resembles Hallertau Mittelfrüh, offering delicate floral notes, soft lemon character, and gentle woody spice. A faithful expression of classic noble character, grown American.
