Jester Hops

Jester® is a modern UK variety released by the Charles Faram Hop Development Program. The result of Cascade seedlings, Jester brought big, new-world genetics to British fields while keeping that unmistakable UK terroir. Expect punchy citrus, resin, and bright black currants that work in both fruit-forward pale ales and IPAs as well as more traditional styles.

All imported hop varieties are Type-90 hop pellets.

What you’ll experience

In the rub: grapefruit zest, pine resin, and a streak of black currant

In the beer: citrus layered with stone fruit and a subtle woody thread.

Overall vibe: “new-world” intensity from a UK hop, with a clean bitterness.

Why brewers love it

Dual-purpose utility with most brewers using it in whirlpool or for dry hopping to showcase the fruity elements.

Plays nicely in pale ales, IPAs, hoppy porters, and stouts. The citrus and fruit pops in light beers, while the resin shines more against darker malts.

How to use it

Whirlpool or hop stand to amplify grapefruit and stone fruit. Dry hop to spotlight that black currant note.

Blend with UK varieties for like Mystic® or Harlequin® for a broader fruit spectrum. Mystic is Jester’s daughter, and Harlequin is its granddaughter via Godiva, so they share family traits while bringing their own twist.
