Tangier is a new open-pollination variety (initially named EXP24-25) from Segal Ranch’s estate hop farm in the lower Yakima Valley. Discovered in 2021, Tangier immediately impressed brewers with an intense tangerine aroma that transfers exceptionally well into beer. Its vibrant citrus character and versatility between hot side, cold side, and dry hopping make it a high-impact variety.
Brewers who have already brewed with Tangier describe it as bright citrus, but more specifically, tangerines and navel oranges. Distinct orange creamsicle and orange blossom notes make this a very unique and versatile hop.
