Galena is named after the ancient Roman term "galenite", a mineral that lives in the soils of Oregon. Released by the USDA as a high alpha variety in 1978, Galena offers clean bittering and has long been a go-to hop for heavy-hitting brews like IPAs, stouts, porters and red ales.
