Free Labels for Your One in Eight Triumph Beers

Kaleb Schwecke |

October is breast cancer awareness month and we teamed up with CLS Farms and Roy Farms to raise funds for the local charity Wellness House here in Yakima. One in Eight was a project started two years ago by Shelley Desmarais of CLS Farms to raise awareness about breast cancer, which she battled in 2017. In past years One in Eight would brew a fresh hop beer with a Washington brewery (Cloudburst Brewing in 2018 and Icicle Brewing Company in 2019) and proceeds from the beer sales would go to a local charity.

This year the One in Eight project is a bit different. Instead of focusing on a single beer by a single brewery, we wanted to invite brewers of all shapes and sizes to participate. This year CLS Farms grew a specially selected lot of the new public variety Triumph for everyone to brew with. Roy Farms specially pelletized the exclusive lot as fast as possible to lock in all the freshness. And now those Triumph hops are available for you to brew!

Between Yakima Valley Hops, CLS Farms, and Roy Farms, over $4 will be donated for every pound of 2020 Triumph hops sold. These donations will go to Wellness House, but we want to encourage everyone to seek out a local charity in their area to support.

As a thank you to all of the brewers who are participating in One in Eight this year, we are giving away these customizable beer labels for free! There are two different designs to choose from and each design comes formatted for both 16oz cans and 12oz bottles. Each label comes in an editable Adobe Illustrator .ai file that is complete with instructions.

So now when your One in Eight beer featuring 2020 Triumph hops is done fermenting, you will have a great looking label ready to go. If you are a commercial brewery that is participating, please shoot us a link to your website and we will update you on the list below.

Do good, brew good!

Triumph HOP PROFILE | Triumph hops are the newest variety to be released by the USDA public hop breeding program. Triumph has been almost two decades in the making, but has been making quite the impact in the brewing community after it was officially released in 2019. While the initial acreage of Triumph was small, the high demand has pushed farmers to expand out acreage and the 2020 crop is looking to be its breakout year.

Triumph's parentage consists of East Kent Goldings, Brewers Gold, Nugget, and Hallertau Mittelfrüh, and its noble genetics are definitely present, making it the perfect lager hop. But Triumph has also found a home in fruit forward ales and IPAs due to its bright aromas of lime, orange, and peach. Triumph is more delicate than other fruit forward varieties, but still robust enough to be used in a wide range of styles.
