HBC 472 is an experimental hop variety from the Hop Breeding Company. It is the result of open pollination of a neomexicanus mother, prized for its distinctive flavor of oak, bourbon barrels, coconut, vanilla and orange — an unusually layered profile that sets it apart from most hops. Its flavor synergizes seamlessly with both malt and hop character, making HBC 472 surprisingly versatile across a wide range of beer styles. Especially suited for darker beer styles, where it can impart a whiskey barrel–like complexity. A true original with rare depth and neomexicanus character.
